About

The address of this website is: https://www.uis.edu.mt

The author of this website is the company stated in the imprint.

Content of the online offer

The author reserves the right not to be  responsible for the topicality, correctness, completeness or quality of the information provided. The author is not liable for material and/or immaterial damages caused by the use or non-use of the information provided or by the use of incorrect or incomplete information, unless the author can be proven to have acted with intent or gross negligence. All offers are subject to change and non-binding. The author expressly reserves the right to change, supplement, delete or temporarily or permanently cease publication of parts of the pages or the entire offer without prior notice.

References and Links

In the case of direct or indirect references to external websites (“hyperlinks”) which lie outside the author’s area of responsibility, the author is only liable if the author has knowledge of the content of the external websites and it is technically possible and reasonable for the author to prevent their use in the case of illegal content. The author hereby expressly declares that no illegal content was discernible on the linked pages at the time the links were created. The author has no influence on the current and future design, content or authorship of the linked pages. Therefore, the author hereby expressly dissociates himself from all contents of all linked/connected pages that were changed after the link was set. This statement applies to all links and references set within the author’s own Internet offer as well as to external entries in guest books, discussion forums, link directories, mailing lists and all other forms of databases set up by the author to which external write access is possible. Liability for illegal, incorrect or incomplete content and, in particular, for damage arising from the use or non-use of information presented in this way rests solely with the provider of the page to which reference is made, and not with the person who merely refers to the publication in question via links.
In its judgement of 12 May 1998, the Hamburg Regional Court ruled that the inclusion of links also leads to co-responsibility of the material offered via these links. This can only be prevented by expressly distancing oneself from this content.

The following applies to all links on this homepage: The author hereby expressly distances himself from all contents of all linked pages on this homepage and does not adopt these contents as his own.

Copyright and Trademark Law

The author endeavours to observe the copyrights of the images, graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts used in all publications, to use images, graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts created by himself or to use licence-free graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts. All brand names and trademarks mentioned on the website and possibly protected by third parties are subject without restriction to the provisions of the applicable trademark law and the ownership rights of the respective registered owners. The mere mention of a trademark does not imply that it is not protected by the rights of third parties! The copyright for published objects created by the author himself remains solely with the author of the pages. Any duplication or use of objects such as diagrams, sounds or texts in other electronic or printed publications is not permitted without the author’s agreement.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).
Google Analytics also uses “cookies”. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. This means that IP addresses are shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. A direct reference to a person in the context of further processing can thus be excluded. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

In addition, you can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Social Media Plugins

So-called social media plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook are used on our website.

Facebook
Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). An overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/?locale=de_DE

In order to increase the protection of your data when visiting our website, the plugins are integrated into the site using the so-called “2-click solution” from Heise Online. This integration ensures that when you call up a page that contains such plugins, no connection is yet established with the servers of the respective providers. Only when you activate the plugins and thus give your consent to the transmission of data, does your browser establish a direct connection to the servers of the activated providers. The content of the respective plugin is then transmitted directly to your browser by the associated provider and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page, even if you do not have a profile with the corresponding provider or are not currently logged in to the service of the respective provider. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the respective provider, possibly in the USA, and stored there.
If you are logged in to one of the providers’ services, the providers can directly assign your visit to our website to your profile/account of the respective provider. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button, the “+1” button or the “Tweet” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the providers and stored there. The information will also be published in the social network or on your social media account and displayed there to your contacts. For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the providers’ data protection notices:
Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/policy.php]
If you do not want the providers to directly assign the data collected via our website to your profile/account in the respective service, you must log out of the corresponding service before activating the plugins.

LinkedIn
Our website uses functions of the LinkedIn network. The operating company of LinkedIn is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For data protection issues outside the USA, LinkedIn Ireland, Privacy Policy Issues, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, is responsible. Each time one of our pages containing LinkedIn functions is accessed, a connection to LinkedIn servers is established. LinkedIn is informed that you have visited our web pages with your IP address. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommend” button and are logged into your LinkedIn account, it is possible for LinkedIn to associate your visit to our website with you and your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by LinkedIn.

You can find more information on this in LinkedIn’s data protection declaration at: https://de.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Security

To secure all data stored with us, we use technical security elements to protect your information from possible damage, loss and unauthorised access. The security measures are regularly updated and improved in line with ongoing technical developments.
Due to a restrictive allocation of access authorisations, your data transmitted to us is only accessible to the group of persons required to fulfil the purpose.
Visits to our website are made via an encrypted SSL connection. This means that your entries are protected from unauthorised access.

Your rights

You have a right to information regarding the personal data stored about you. In addition, you have the right to correct, restrict and delete data as well as to object to consent already given. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
You have the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning you. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we are legally obliged to do so or can prove compelling reasons for the processing.
